Introduction

The full name is “Yuqing Jinzhu Qinghua Secret Text Jinbao Nei Alchemy Art”. It is called “Qinghua Secret Text” for short. It was written by Zhang Boduan in the Northern Song Dynasty and compiled by his disciple Wang Bangshu. Three volumes, collected in “Orthodox Dao Zang” Dong Zhen Bu Method. There is a table playing at the beginning of the compilation, claiming to use the internal alchemy formula taught by the real person Qinghua as a graph theory, directly revealing the secret purpose of the golden elixir. The whole book is divided into 24 sections, with pictures and explanations, poems and formulas, describing the theory of inner alchemy and exercises, which is more clear and accessible than “Wu Zhen Pian”. It roughly takes essence, qi, and spirit as the key points, and emphasizes that the essence, energy, and spirit must be used as the golden elixir, and the spirit is the master of alchemy. It is also said that the heart is the home of the gods, the hub of all transformations, and life depends on it. Therefore, to learn the Tao, one must first understand the nature of the mind and know the nature of the true heart and soul. Remove the nature of lust and temperament, the nature of temperament is exhausted and the nature of essence is first seen. The only way to understand the mind and see the nature is to be quiet, watch and listen instead, calm the mind, and if the stillness is extremely vivid, then the natural breath will conquer its orifices. It is also known as alchemy starting work, and the first is to close the breath. Use the mind to concentrate on the essence, and when the essence, qi, and spirit are united, the primordial spirit will be produced. This starts with action and reaches almost inaction, that is, first take life to obtain sex, and then use sex to settle life. Those who cultivate both mind and body, this is what we call it. Therefore, although the alchemy method in this book is called “destiny first, nature second”, the emphasis is on nature. Some people suspect that this book was written by Li Puye, a Taoist priest of the Ming Dynasty, and named it Zhang Boduan.
