Introduction

“Five Elements Jingji”, author Liao Zhong, courtesy name Boli, Qingjiang native, The date of birth and death has not been tested. He was a contemporary and fellow villager with Zhou Bida, a famous scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty. Based on this inference, “The Essence of the Five Elements” was written in that year or earlier. The first engraved edition was published in the first year of Shaoding in the Southern Song Dynasty. The preface was written by Yue Fei’s grandson, Yue Ke. Thirty-one years have passed since the year the book was completed, and it is suspected that Shao’s final edition was published by Yue Ke. This book is a collection of theories of dozens of authors, chapter by sentence analysis, test of gains and losses, and depth of correction. It has become a masterpiece of numerology before Qingyuan in the Southern Song Dynasty, and provides important literature value for the study of numerology classics in Tang and Song Dynasties.
